Four days without sleep. Four days without sobriety. Four days without ever seeing a right angle. Four beautiful, tiring, and mind blowing days. Electric Forest is a different ride for everyone, but what remains true for all is that it was definitely an experience worth remembering.

It with an uncertain drive through the security gates and arriving to a backdrop of tents, dust, and summer sweat. This arrival is scored by the sound of laughing, drunk howling, and the deep energetic growl of car subwoofers which collectively create a wonderfully incoherent mosaic of sound.

Off the bat we meet our wonderfully bizarre neighbors. This serves as a foreshadowing of all the breadth of personalities about to intertwine with. [connecting sentence] There’s no real judgement from any direction because we all seem to be speaking the same language.

As the sun sets, the backdrop of our adventure transforms with a 20 minute walk across the dusty campsite to Sherwood Forest where it all takes place. A blast of energy radiates from the crowd around the first nearby stage immediately inside.

After a few seconds of getting our shit-show sea legs, it all sets in and Forest has officially begun. These jobs we were at the day before, the problems we had, they were all left behind for now. Now was a time to worry about much different things—Which show to get to next, how much more (or less) high we should be, and the thrice daily quandary: “Damn am I really about to spend seven bucks on a slice of pizza?”
