Playlists x Humanity

An exploration of how people express their spiritz through music.

Musical taste reveals a lot about a person. It cuts to the core—revealing some of the most personal aspects about them. We can see through how others feel, how they think, and what they relate to. What we perceive and process from our experiences is infused into who we are as people, and it shapes our musical taste.

BLACK DOG invited dozens of people to reveal a little bit about who they are by creating a playlist that harnesses their musical taste, sparked by a specific theme. On this card, they were asked to write down their ideas and connotations relating to their theme. From there, they created a ten song playlist comprised of songs that they found meaningful and relevant to their topic.

We found the results to be meaningful, poignant, and deeply personal.
